Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy have chosen their teammates for the second Optum Golf Channel Games, which will be hosted at Trump National Golf Club Jupiter in Florida on Dec. 16.
Scheffler, the World No. 1 player and reigning FedEx Cup winner who narrowly won the first Golf Channel Games last December in a playoff over McIlroy, will be joined by Chris Gotterup, Michael Brennan and rookie sensation Jackson Koivun to round out his team. That trio has won a combined six PGA Tour events this season, while Scheffler also won three events on his own.
McIlroy, the two-time defending Masters champion with six major titles to his name, will have Matt Fitzpatrick, Si Woo Kim of South Korea and China’s Haotong Li on his squad. Fitzpatrick accounts for three of Team McIlroy’s four wins on tour this season.
The rapid-fire golf competition will feature challenges such as the 14-Club Challenge and Team Relay. It’ll be broadcast on Golf Channel and USA Network.
