Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Max Kepler was designated for assignment while catcher Adrian Del Castillo was recalled from Triple-A Reno on Sunday.
Kepler, 33, signed a free agent deal with the Diamondbacks on June 7 and batted .205 with two home runs and 15 RBIs in 41 games for Arizona.
A veteran of 12 MLB seasons, Kepler is a career .234 hitter with 181 home runs and 575 RBIs for the Minnesota Twins (2015-24), Philadelphia Phillies (2025) and Diamondbacks.
Del Castillo, who turns 27 on Sept. 27, was batting .199 with five home runs and 24 RBIs in 59 games with the Diamondbacks earlier this season.
