Louisville dismissed guard London Johnson from the program on Friday for an unspecified rules violation.
He joined the Cardinals last winter after a stint in the NBA G League but never played in a regular-season game.
“London Johnson has been dismissed from the University of Louisville men’s basketball team due to a violation of team rules and University policy,” the school said in a news release. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
Johnson, 22, started for Louisville in an exhibition game last month in the Bahamas and contributed 13 points and seven rebounds in 22 minutes.
A consensus four-star recruit in the Class of 2022 out of Norcross, Ga., Johnson bypassed college and signed with the G League Ignite. He played for the Ignite, Maine Celtics and Cleveland Charge before signing with Louisville.
